密率法(density)是数论常用的方法之一. 这个方法有一个独有的优点: 可以得出很多关于每一个自然数都成立的精彩结论. 这一点令筛法或圆法望尘莫及: 筛法或圆法得到的结果只对充分大的自然数成立. 密率这个概念是Lev Schnirelmann 在两篇分别发表于 1930 年, 1933 年的论文提出的. 很多的数论书, 都有专门的章节论述密率, 比如, [1]的第十九章, [2]的第一章和第五章, [3]的第一章, [4]的第十一章, 等等. 还有的书, 把密率法作为专门的方法加以介绍, 比如, [5]的第十一章, [6]的第二节, 等等. 密率在数论的许多非常惊世骇俗的进展, 诸如哥德巴赫猜想, 华林问题, Szemerédi’s theorem, Green-Tao 定理, …
